Mónica Rodríguez

Mónica was born in Petrer (Alicante, Spain) and earned her Ph.D. in Physical Sciences, specializing in Astrophysics, from the University of La Laguna (Tenerife, Spain). She works as a researcher at the National Institute of Astrophysics, Optics and Electronics in Puebla, Mexico, where she studies the chemical composition and dust in nebulae ionized by newly formed massive stars or by older, lower-mass stars. She has supervised several bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral theses, and teaches courses on statistical techniques and stellar evolution. Outside of her research, Mónica enjoys sharing science with the public, loves reading, and is currently learning to paint with oils.
