Antonella is an Italian astrophysicist. She earned her doctorate in mathematics at La Sapienza University of Rome, specializing in astronomy, and is currently working at the Paris Observatory. Her research focuses on the origin and evolution of the Solar System through the study of small-body populations. She has coordinated numerous international ground-based and space-based observing programs and has contributed to the design and development of several space missions (ESA, NASA, JAXA). She has received many awards, and the asteroid 3485 Barucci was named in her honor. Outside her scientific work, she is passionate about skiing, the sea, and reading Japanese authors.
